When is the best time to book a family or newborn session?

I take on a limited number of sessions each month to ensure the intentional and thoughtful Payne & Co. Photography experience. Because of this, I recommend booking 1 to 2 months in advance, especially during busy seasons like spring and fall in New Orleans.

That said, if you’ve just discovered my work or you are planning a last minute trip to New Orleans, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I will always let you know if I have availability.

What is your photography approach?

Building trust and helping people feel comfortable is at the heart of what I do. Many families worry they will feel awkward in front of the camera, but my role is to help you relax and simply enjoy your time together.

Where do sessions take place in New Orleans?

Sessions can take place in a variety of meaningful locations around New Orleans. Some families prefer the intimacy of an in-home session, while others love outdoor settings like City Park, Audubon Park, or the quiet streets of the French Quarter.

No matter the location, my approach remains the same. Storytelling, lifestyle driven photography that focuses on authentic connection between families and couples.

What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?

As a mom and former pediatric nurse, I have years of experience working with children of all ages. I understand that kids have their own rhythms, moods, and personalities.

Instead of forcing moments, I work with children in a way that allows them to be themselves. Often the most meaningful photographs come from those unscripted moments when kids are simply being kids.

How many photos will we receive?

Your memories should be yours to keep, which is why I provide a full gallery with every session. There is no choosing favorites and no additional costs for extra images.

While every session is unique, most galleries include around 40 to 50 thoughtfully edited images. It is never about the number of photographs, but how deeply they make you feel when you return to them years from now.

Do you photograph couples as well as families?

Absolutely.

Whether you are newly engaged, planning a surprise proposal, or simply wanting to capture the love you have built together, couples sessions are rooted in connection, trust, and warmth.

I photograph couples the same way I photograph families, with intention, emotion, and respect for the moments that matter most. Sessions can take place in meaningful spots around New Orleans, such as the French Quarter, City Park, or even your own home.

When will we receive our gallery?

It is important to me that every photograph receives the attention it deserves, so I never rush the editing process. Your final gallery will be delivered approximately 2 to 3 weeks after your session. You will receive a private online gallery where you can download your high resolution images to your phone, computer, or hard drive.

Images are edited with true to life color and warmth. Black and white photographs are rich in emotion and depth, highlighting the honest storytelling moments that make your session unique.
